Calgary Media Appearance

Througn a rare coincidence, a week after we began working with Canadian Pump & Compressor, the Calgary Flood happened. David Howse (President of Matterhorn Business Solutions (owner of this website) went to the Stampede grounds and gained permission from the Calgary Police to return with Global News and his new client. We were the only media on-site that day.

We had an upclose look at the devistation and positioned our client as an expert on flood mitigation - which he actually was. Below is a video we shot which includes our client's interview with Global TV.

Video Production that lead to a half-page article in the Financail Post

After going to a construction site near CityScape in the NE of Calgary, we produced the following video. Once loaded on YouTube, we wrote a press release and sent it to a few journalists who covered construction and women in the workplace. The result was a half-page article in the Financial Post.

The original press release can be found here.

Public Relations and Social Media

If there is one area where PR and social media can work together is content creation. Hosting media events and special events offers an excellent opportunity for content creation.

On April 25, 2015 Century Downs Racetrack and Casino ran the first harness racing event in Calgary in almost eight years. Horse racing fans put the building at capacity and Alberta Premier Jim Pretence spoke at the event (see photos above) which was attended by the who's-who of the Alberta horse world. From all this there was a swarm of media in attendance with a lot of video, photos, and stories coming from the event.

David Howse, of Matterhorn PR, arranged all three press conferences (Dec. 2014, April 1, 2015, and April 25, 2015). He also wrote the press releases, managed media relations, produced videos of the events and handled some of the photography.
